What is the PSSG?
PSSG is a UK National Trade Association for those who wish to provide security, ID management, and secure electronic delivery systems, services, goods and technologies to government.

PSSG aims
PSSG is dedicated to establishing, developing and maintaining supplier member engagement with government at all levels.  Whilst welcoming larger suppliers, its emphasis is on supporting and representing small and medium sized enterprises, together with their specialised service and product offerings, and making these visible and available to the public sector within an open market.

Recognising that SMEs experience great difficulty in establishing credible relationships with government in response to public sector procurement opportunities, the PSSG represents those who deliver such specialist ICT consultancy, hardware, software and other associated services to local and central government, to the wider public sector, and to the supply chain that supports public sector activities.

The PSSG has:

• Supplier promotion through a strong web presence where members can describe their products and services
  • Aimed at public sector procurement specialists and systems integrators
  • With no accreditation requirement for members
• Excellent contacts with central and local government
  • PSSG was born as a result of the National Smart Card Project supported by DCLG (ex ODPM)

The PSSG provides suppliers with:

• Awareness of public sector procurement activity
• Networking and opportunities to form collaborations and consortia
• Mutual support, advice, and access to Best Practice and practical approaches to dealing with government
• An anonymous channel for presenting aggregated views to government
• Visibility to the public sector & system integrators via the website
• Regular bi-monthly meetings with educative and informational agendas
• The ability to help to shape the mechanisms through which members, their products and their services can be made visible to public sector procurers so that PSSG may increasingly influence public sector procurement and project management
